I was walking around the neighborhood last night.
I met foreign tourists on Shinjuku.
they seemed they had been lost the way.
And then a member of the tourists saw me and said: “Excuse me?” . I replied “yes.” then he said ” blah blah blah…”
I didn’t know that words.
Because they were no English speaker.
But a man of them his finger indicates a point of place on his PDA’s display.
I looked that and I understood where they want to go there.

Although I can’t speak their word I tried them a guide.
“Follow me,” I said.

Along the way, we talked with a little bit of English with them.
They said that they came from Madrid, Spain to Japan.
Arrival to the destination.
They and I parted there.

It was a very small amount of time but was a very fun time.
Their journey will pray that will be something nice.

I had tried Amazon English.

というわけでひと月ほどAmazonの新サービスAmazon Englishを試してみました。

サービス内容はユーザーレベルに合わせた難易度の
・語彙テスト
・文字情報付き音声データ
この二つです。

語彙テストはおそらく無料アプリ（mikan bushuu duolingoなど）でことが足りるかと思われ
音声については文字を見ながら読めるのはありがたいけど
podcastやTED等で無料配信されているものだったり…。
これで月800円はちょっと高すぎないか？と思わせてくれました。

なので残念ですが継続しませんでした。

これなら、無料アプリで十分です。

もっと音声認識機能とか（これもELZAなど優秀な無料アプリがあったりします。）
もっともっと付加価値がついたらおすすめになるかもしれません。

昨日の勉強で全然理解できなかった。
It’s time to do. It’s time did.の使い分け方

とりあえず日本語で意味を整理しよう。
例文(English Grammar in Use with Answers and CD-ROM: A Self-Study Reference and Practice Book for Intermediate Learners of Englishより引用）

It’s time to do.
It’s time for somebody to do.

It’s time to go home. 家に帰る時間です。
It’s time for us to go home.　私たちが家に帰る時間です。

It’s time did.
It’s late. It’s time we went home. 遅い。もう帰宅すべき時間だ。
ここの動詞が過去形になっているけど内容はpastではなくpresentである。
調べてみると日本語での説明ではこれを仮定法過去の用法の一つと言われているようだ。
（実際にはしていないけど）didしていい時間だ。

他の例文も見てみる。（日本語訳は私の解釈です。間違っているかも？）
It’s time they were here. Why are they so late. 彼らはここにいていい時間だ。なぜ彼らはこんなに遅いんだ？

It’s time somebody did something.
（somebodyがすでに行動を実行または開始するべきであるときに-今してないことについて-批判や文句を言うときに使う構造文らしい）
This situation can’t continue. It’s time you did something about it.
この状況は続きません。それに対してあなたはなにかしたほうがいい。

ここで昨日できなかった問題を解いてみよう。

Q. You haven’t had a holiday for a long time. You need one now.
A. It’s time I had a holiday.

最後に
It’s about time you went to bed.
It’s about time did はそろそろdidする時間ですよ。（時間的にはいつもの時間前後な感じ）
It’s time did はdidする時間ですよ。（いつもの時間より遅れている感じ）
It’s high time did はとっくにdidする時間ですよ。（いつもの時間よりだいぶ遅れている感じ）

とりあえず簡単な問題は解けるようになったかな？

まず日本語で意味が分からないと難しい。
覚えたと思っても忘れちゃう。
最後に作文。

It’s about time I studied English.
It’s time we had a party.
It’s late. It’s high time you left.

こんな感じでよろしいでしょうか？

ここに書いてあることは私が勉強したことをまとめてあるだけで正しいかはどうかわかりません。
正しい文法はきちんとした文法書で調べるといいと思います。

Past Continuous と Past Simple
この二つが融合された問題があると必ず間違えてしまいます。
日本語にすると
○○していた。
○○した。
というような違いがあるいのですが日本語でもそのあたりがふんわりして使っていた気がします。
基本的にPast Simpleは過去における一点を指すとしたら
Past Continuousは
過去においてはまだ動作し続けている（Continuous）されている状態で
現在はもう終わっている出来事を表現している。

Started —– ←　was(were) doing　→ ——-finished

時系列で文章を書くとこんな感じかな？
I started to paint the wall .
I was painting the wall.
I finished to paint the wall.

始点と終点そして作用し続けている事柄をもっと意識していないと難しいです。
多分私は日本語でもココのあたりの認識が甘いのだと思います。

英語学習するようになって本当に自分の基本的な文法力の欠如を痛感しています。

このあたりの学習はマーフィーの初級編でしつこいぐらい復習する予定です。
